I'll use this in the fall to help students understand the context of south asia and central asia - we all need to understanding the interconnectedness of the region in order to see from where the influences have emerged. For example, the silk road involved trade on myriad levels and involved invaders and cultural appropriators from all sides. To start to understand and unpack motivations of these merchants, we need to know what understanding they function under.
